Condo insurance coverage by the AARP® Home Insurance Program from The Hartford is designed to make sure condo owners like you are prepared and protected, no matter what. These coverage definitions should help you understand the options available in your condo insurance coverage package.

Not all coverages are available in all states.

Personal Property

Personal property condo insurance coverage protects your personal belongings, such as furniture, clothing, and appliances, from unexpected theft, fire, or other damage.

Loss of Use

This condo insurance coverage is available when you cannot live in your condo due to a covered loss. It pays reasonable and customary living expenses up to the limit provided in your policy.

Liability

Liability condo insurance coverage protects you in two ways. First, it provides for your legal defense against a liability claim (lawsuit). Second, it pays any court judgments for covered losses against you, up to the policy limit.

Medical Payments

This condo insurance coverage pays emergency medical bills for anyone injured in your condo, or any injury caused by a member of your family, including pets. All bills are paid up to your condominium insurance coverage limit, whether or not you’re legally responsible.
