Your home is much more than walls and a roof. It’s one of your most important financial assets. That’s why the benefits of the AARP Homeowners Insurance Program from The Hartford are designed to offer you maximum protection for your money.
Options to Customize Your Protection
Although a basic AARP Homeowners Insurance plan already
provides protection for valuable items such as jewelry, silverware and even
your credit cards, you may have a need for expanded coverages. You’ll
find the AARP Homeowners Insurance Program from The Hartford offers you several
options for protection of your valuables and special
possessions.
Special Protection Packages: As an easy convenient way to add
protection, we offer packages that bundle some of the most requested coverages
for valuables. These packages offer increased coverage for jewelry,
silverware, credit cards and personal liability. They also offer
additional coverages such as lock replacement and loss of perishable
food. Available packages may vary by state. Your homeowners
insurance professional can give you more information and help you decide if a
package is right for you.
Scheduled Personal Property: For homeowners who need more than
$5,000 of protection for valuables, or have special valuables such as antiques
or fine art, our Scheduled Personal Property coverage allows you to list items
and their value, for more customized protection. (Appraisals may be
required.) Depending on your state, several additional benefits and coverages may be
available, such as identity theft coverage, coverage for golf carts, and
more. Call our homeowners insurance professionals who can help you
evaluate your current coverages and provide you with a quote for homeowners
protection that is customized for your needs. * If you are age 50 or older, once you’re insured through this Program
for at least 60 days, you cannot be refused renewal as long as applicable
premiums are paid when due. Also, you must continue to insure your home
for at least 80% of your home’s rebuilding value, and cannot have knowingly
increased your home’s hazard level.
